Street Feet

Sometimes when we’re a new place we like to focus on a single detail. By blocking out all the rest of the sensory stimuli, we can absorb the new information at a more leisurely pace.

While on assignment to Amsterdam, we took some moments to stand still, noticing the feet of passers by. These legs and shoes tell an urban story – busy people striding to unknown destinations.

A compact city with scenic bridges overtop 165 canals, Amsterdam is a walker’s paradise. With more than three times the number of bridges than Venice, it helps to be fit when out for a stroll. Despite the wide variety of footwear we captured with our camera, we did not happen to see anybody the city’s iconic wooden clogs, in case you were wondering.

About Colin McGuire You know that friend who always has a camera in his hand and can’t stop taking pictures? Well, that’s me! For myself I really enjoy shooting street portraits and streetscapes. And for my clients I just love creating beautiful, captivating moments, full of authentic mood and emotion. I’m based in the Midwest but I shoot all over the US and world. I’m comfortable with productions of all sizes from available-light environmental portraits to full on largescale lifestyle shoots. When I’m not taking pictures I love racing fast cars, listening to loud music, watching sci-fi movies and making bad jokes. But usually I’m taking pictures. Ready for a photo adventure? Let’s chat!
