Ireland is known for its lush, green landscapes but some of its most priceless gems are reserved for only the most determined. On a recent trip home, a friend led us to a remote spot in the forests of Tuam where he then unveiled an epic spectacle – a magical castle estate, once a stately mansion and now a skeleton overrun with vines and trees. Formerly home to a prominent family, it was built deep in the woods as a secondary estate. Eventually it burned down during the Troubles of 1922, but so much heart and soul remains in the sacred space.
We knew it was the perfect setting for our famous Irish musician friends Ronan Regan and Irene Guckian’s next project, so we trooped back soon after for these unique images, pausing for breaks with wine and song. It was one of our most enchanting photoshoots ever.
